NICKELODEON CENTRAL Paramount’s Carowinds Charlotte, NC

TASK

Design and build attractions and environments for a theme area renovation based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon characters. 

SCOPE OF WORK

WGI was charged with converting an existing log flume and adjacent buildings into a Wild Thornberry’s River Adventure. A dynamic transformation occurred through the use of giant exotic masks, spears and jungle elements. Oversized canteens, binoculars, trunks and other outback gear were used against striking scenic painting for a vibrant animated effect. Using a similar approach, a nearby food stand was converted into Wild Thornberry’s Outpost Canteen.

WGI also created the Rugrats Runaway Reptar Coaster thematic package, successfully transforming this family attraction into a Rugrats cartoon adventure. Against a colorful cityscape, WGI built a 20’ fiberglass Reptar dinosaur climbing on a 12’ building.
