Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark Resort

A sprawling, immersive adventure with fun characters for guests to explore

In 2015, Camelback Mountain Resort unveiled a massive hotel and waterpark addition, built with the help of Weber Group. It was an amazing project that allowed our team’s theming capabilities to shine.

AN ADVENTURE IN CREATION

The brand overlay centers around Kartrite Van Der Berris, an explorer named for the two owners of Camelback Mountain Resort. He travels around the world and collects extraordinary artifacts that can be found throughout the resort. The resort lobby is modeled to be his study, were Kartrite always rests from his adventures.

REAL WORLD ADVENTURE

In addition to showcasing our specialty fabrication services with an iguana statue at the entryway to the lazy river, we wanted to create the true spirit of exploration. We used a gutted plane for the swim-up pool bar and a real snowcat to sit atop a glacier. Incorporating these pieces required more attention to supporting heavier structures than some of our in-house fabrications, but rising up to the demand of the design was well worth delivering an authentic, immersive and fun experience.

Following a project from concept to creation is a true perk of the job. We had a blast brainstorming, designing and building every piece of this project.
