The Muses, LEED Certified Apartments

The Muses Apartments is a landmark three-phase urban residential development in post Katrina New Orleans, built in partnership between Weber Construction and Gulf Coast Housing Partnership. Rising on 4.8 acres of previously vacant land, the project delivers 263 apartments, 28 market rate condos, and 4,000 square feet of commercial space that contribute to the neighborhood’s revitalization.

As the first LEED certified multi-family development in Louisiana, The Muses set a precedent for sustainable, mixed income housing in the state. Environmentally conscious design, energy-efficient systems, and thoughtful planning established a new benchmark for resilient development in a recovering city.

The project faced significant challenges, from early investor loss to complex zoning requirements. Yet through strong collaboration between public and private partners, The Muses Apartments transformed into a vibrant, inclusive community that reflects both innovation and long term sustainability.
